Studying the IB Diploma at EISP opened the doors to success for Giorgia and Riccardo Balin. Giorgia graduated from EISP in 2009 and Riccardo in 2011.
In May 2016, Riccardo obtained his Masters in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Boulder, Colorado, winning the Chancellor’s Recognition Award for achieving straight As in all his studies in the College of Engineering and Applied Science. This follows his award in 2015 for the highest GPA of any undergraduate student in the college that year.  Riccardo has now been hired as a researcher by the university and will shortly begin his PHD.
Also, in May 2016, Riccardo’s elder sister Giorgia graduated cum laude from the Charlotte School of Law in North Carolina with a pro bono for service to the community and the university’s Order of Excellence. Simultaneously, Giorgia was awarded an important prize from the Association of Lawyers in North Carolina for the best student of the year for her pro bono activities. Giorgia is now married in Colorado where she will be sitting her bar exams for entry into the profession.
We are delighted for Giorgia and Riccardo.  Their achievements are a credit to their parents, their universities and their school. They are fulfilling the promise they showed in EISP and we wish them every continued success.

This year's Summer Exhibition is a first for The English International School of Padua. Coordinated by the Art teacher the exhibition is a collaboration of work between Nursery, Primary, Middle and High school staff & students. Staff from all areas of the schools were asked to develop a piece of Art work with their students on the theme "Birds, Wings and Flying Things". The inspiration for the name came from the school logo which mimics the wings of a butterfly. Teachers were asked to be as experimental as possible with materials to help create an exciting range of works from the different year groups.
The exhibition will also feature works from the Year 6 and 7 photography club, the IGCSE end of year slideshow, the IB fairy-tale sculptures, the house drawing competition, pieces of artwork by teachers and a live poetry reading from students who entered this years house day poetry slam.

Pupil council

EISP is happy to present the Primary Pupil Council!

The Pupil Conucil has been created by Elementary students elected to be representatives for their classes. Their main purpose is to think of new ideas to help make the school and their learning the best it can be. Firstly, students meet and discuss ideas with their class and then they share these ideas in the Pupil Council meetings. After that they meet with the head teacher to discuss their ideas even further.

These are some proposals that they are very proud of achieving as a council this year; creating a school vote on mascot ideas for each house group, working with the green team - Key Stage 2 pupils' eco club - to keep the school as green as it can be and including more games in the playground.

EarthW02 1

Earth day is an annual event, always on the same date on which events worldwide are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. This year we have decided to celebrate Earth Week which will also include Earth Hour culminating with the actual Earth Day on Friday 22nd April. Each year group will be focussing on different topics such as recycling, energy, endangered animals and will concentrate learning objectives during the week to their chosen topic. Each class will also contribute to a whole school display titled “The Earth is in my hands”. We would like to make Earth day special for the children; therefore the children may come to school on Friday 22nd April dressed in green clothing instead of wearing their usual school uniform.
